This unit discussed different types of evaluations and when they should be used. I found this useful as I have only given progress examinations before and these were not created by me anyway. So I found it interesting to learn about placement, diagnostic, practice and external examinations and what types of questions may go into these tests. The most useful part of the lesson was creating a beginner progress test as part of the task sheet. I focused my progress test on animals and what they do, ensuring I covered speaking, listening, reading and writing components. While it's difficult to know the exact level of these beginner students without knowing them, I enjoyed thinking over what questions would properly challenge students, but not prove to be too difficult for a beginner level.
