This unit covered details on what makes a good teacher and learner. I think one of the most important things I learned from the lesson was motivation. In my own experience, I have struggled to find motivation when studying new languages and I imagine young learners and adults would benefit most greatly from inner motivation to learn a language, whether for the sake of their studies, careers, relationships, etc. I also reflected on what makes a good teacher, and I think the most important quality is perhaps enthusiasm / eagerness. When a teacher brings lots of positive energy to the classroom, kids and adults can really latch onto that and there are so many benefits that offshoot from this. It builds good rapport, gets everyone involved, and maybe motivates students to ask more questions and get involved in English learning outside of class. When I teach something, I know it's most successful when I'm fully invested in teaching + open minded and the learners are motivated to listen and ponder.
