unit 19 expresses about teaching special groups. Learners can be divided into levels as, beginners, young learners ,individual learners, business English learners and multilingual and monolingual learners. Beginners can be divided as absolute beginner, false beginner, the adult beginner, young beginner, the beginner without roman alphabet. Methodologies and techniques for teaching beginners are, aware of students needs, have a clear and realistic aims, adapt to suit your situation, be as visual as possible, take care with board work, use choral repetition, give clear, simple instructions, ask alot of questions, do not use the L1 for instructions and etc. Problems related to classroom discipline may occur as a result os problems outside the classroom, attention seeking students, peer pressure, boredom and lack of consistency. Business English groups can be divided as one to one, in company groups, in school groups. Problems can be occurred as the clients are often tired, lack of attendance, diversity level and etc. The teacher needs to balance the clients wants and needs with those of the company. At the beginning of the course the teacher needs to have a general understanding of the level of students and it should be followed by an analysis. Negotiation sessions should be included to clarify their needs. It is important to keep records of attendance, never talk about the participants, write a post course report for a successful completion of a course. Teaching monolingual classes where there will be students who have the same L1 can be taken positively as the teacher can focuss on common activities and materials that match all in the group while it is negative considering the capability of using their L1 inside the class. When considering the multilingual classes it is a plus point that the only common language they can use in the class will be English.
