A Lesson Plan should be thought of as working document which provides a flexible, adaptable framework for the lesson rather than a rigid "script" or fixed schedule. Each teacher will develop their own approach to recording lesson plans but fundamentally lesson plans should serve as a record of the aims/objectives of the lesson (both for the students and the teacher), the language points being covered, any teaching aids used, the activities planned for the class, the approximate timings for each stage of the class and anticipated problems. It can be difficult for less experienced teachers to estimate times and anticipate problems which is why keeping a record of such data can allow a teacher to benefit from earlier experiences in planning future lessons.
