Unit 17 is pretty straight forward in that it covers classroom equipment and teaching aids that can facilitate the learning environment. Many of these are not new nor is it the first time in this course where they have been mentioned. Examples include the white board, visuals, overhead projector, course books, worksheets, etc.
The resources I found to be most relevant to the current teaching atmosphere were the online resources presented here for teachers and students. The unit even mentions websites like YouTube and podcasts – tools that have a high likelihood of making teaching material relevant if chosen wisely. This part of the unit really inspired me to think about what current as well as up and coming tools can be of use in the classroom and which factors might affect their relevance (age, level of literacy, interests, culture, etc.).
