As educators it is our duty to set a standard when we first meet our students. Students have the ability to tell when a teacher is in control or whether they will be able to get away with disrupting future lessons. By establishing a rapport with students we are able to show the students that we are approachable, we have knowledge of the course content as well as to make clear the rules of the class. An established teacher will ensure that his/her classes should always begin with a warmer activity. This will help to build the students interest for the rest of the lesson. The teacher should also cater to the different levels of each student by pairing stronger students with weaker ones, using group work, or simply creating harder tasks using the same topic for stronger students. As teachers we must never force a reluctant student to participate openly in front of their peers. Instead the teacher may introduce the topic to the student before so as to allow him/her to prepare. Several other factors may face a beginning or experienced teacher such as large class sizes, the need for students to always use their native language among others, but a prepared and knowledgeable teacher will always have successful lessons which will be enjoyed by all.
