It is significant how the different transitive verbs are formulated. Having learned more about the structures it is easier to distinguish them. I feel it’s important (as with any other grammar rule) to be aware of these rules in order to recognize individual clauses, non-more so than when needing to explain and teach them. As a native speaker one has often just learned to change the active to the passive voice (and vice versa) without necessarily focusing on what constitutes the form. It thus often comes naturally. Having looked at the attributes and structures one gets a clearer idea of how it actually works. Regarding the modal verbs I found it rather interesting how one often use a form in a desired way which isn't always grammatically correct usage. Especially using may and might as well as could and would.
