In this Unit we saw different teaching methodologies and techniques, the lesson was based on the ESA method (engage, study and activate), as three important parts of a lesson. According to the ESA method, you always have to start with an engaging activity and end with an activate activity, however, the rest of the lesson can vary depending on the level of students and the learning objectives. The Unit also focuses on the importance of elicitation as a general technique to get students to speak in class and answer questions - this also lowers teacher-speaking time and rises student speaking-time, which is really important, especially when students are learning English in their own country, because they will have less exposure to the language. This Unit provides great examples on activities and games during each phase, and finally it introduces evaluation methods such as self-evaluation, peer to peer evaluation, and teacher-student evaluation.
