Conditionals and reported speech is one of the hardest grammar to learn and teach. I think because students really need to understand and remember the tenses well and of course that takes time and practice. The activities mentioned are very helpful for students to practice. The table on backshifting the tenses is particularly useful and something to refer to because even teachers can ocassionally get confused. I found the note on time backshifting something to consider when reporting because I wasn't aware of this rule for example yesterday is the day before or tomorrow is the next day.
