In this unit I learned that effective classroom management involves using your own style of teaching through finding your own style. An effective teacher can be flexible, relaxed, and friendly while maintaining control of the classroom at the same time. Good eye contact is important in establishing rapport and to encourage students to contribute. In addition to eye contact gestures can be used to convey a physical meaning to the language being used and can help make the lesson fun and engaging. Proper voice projection is another key component to being a good teacher and maintaining the students' attention. This unit also went over the different kinds of groups that the students can be broken up into depending on what is being worked on. Another thing I learned in this unit is to use the student's name at the end of the question so that the whole class pays attention because they don't know who will have to respond.
