There are varying levels of students that I will be teaching English to. Based upon their levels and knowledge of English, the lessons can be catered to the students' specific needs. In terms of teaching beginners, it is important to be very visual, to be clear and use a lot of repetition. It is important to explain, praise the students for correctness, and to not over correct. For individual students, it is important to understand what they are wanting and needing out of the lessons and coursework. I must use a variety of activities and techniques so that the student is engaged with the material that I am teaching them. Teaching children requires an entirely different approach. I must repeat a lot, pronounce words slowly, and use frequent praise so that these new years in the classroom are positive and they learn in the best environment. Business English classes are interesting because the age range is pretty vast. But, I can assess the needs of the students in this course so that I can prepare my lessons accordingly.
