In this unit I learned it is important as a native english speaker to brush up on grammar to be able to properly teach the parts of speech to the students. Grammar may be something native english speakers take for granted because we easily use it in everyday discussions. The parts of speech consist of nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerund, pronouns, and prepositions/conjunctions. Each of these categories can have subcategories depending on several factors such as tense. As educators its important to be ready and well read on the subject of grammar because its a topic that students will take many years to fully master due to the intricate rules of the english language.
