This unit is the most challenging so far. There are many terms to remember and it quite hard to differentiate. I need longer time to process all of the information and practice it myself. However, In in this unit, I have learned about some definitions such as phonology, intonation, and did a review for the phonetic symbol. There are some techniques that can be used for indicating and teaching intonation, which is nonsense words, humming or singing, the board and by the gesture. Therefore, there are also some ways of teaching stress, such as contrastive stress, choral work, by the gesture and stress marks. In English, there are four major ways that join together, linking, sound dropping, sound changing and extra lettering. For articulation, there are three main areas to bear in mind, they are, the speech organs, place of articulation and manner of articulation.
