This unit gave a good overview of the different study groups a teacher can encounter. It's important that teachers understand they different types of learners they have infront of them from beginners to esp learners. Each group with its different needs and expectations. A young learner will expect the teacher to be fun and motivated since young beginners though very curious have short attention spans. An adult beginner who may or may not be motivated will expect to participate by trying to produce language and will expect the teacher to guide them.
