Conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences with 2 clauses, an “if” clause and a main clause, they are closely related. We can divide this sentences into different types. This Unit help teachers to organize and find new methods to teach the students this rule. Many conditional forms are used in sentences that include verbs in one of the past tenses (past simple, past continuous, past perfect..). This fact if usage is referred to “the unreal past" cuz we use a past tense but we are not actually want to refer to something that really happened in the past. There are five main conditional sentences in English. The teacher have to be sure that everyone can distinguish them. Teachers can add some interesting tasks in the teaching process (split sentences, chain conditionals, role play games etc). If we are talking about the speech, there are two ways to express the information: direct speech and reported speech. Students have to remember how to turn to the reported speech, the context of the text is transmitted, they have to change the order of words in a sentence etc.
