This unit covered the evaluation and testing. There are many types of test that can be conducted based on the needs. For the student itself, there are three ways to asses their language levels, such as tutorial, evaluation by the students and tests. For language school, the teachers have to do a placement test at the beginning of the course so the student can be placed in the right level based on their skills, not too low that can make the students feel bored and not too high which can make students struggle following the lesson. During the course, progress test is conducted regularly to measure students' progress also to identify which parts that has been remembered and which part need to work more with the students and the teacher. There is another test called practice test, this is a test to meet the standard and structure set by the external examination, for instance, TOEFL, IELTS, and TOIEC. Apart from that, there is also Cambridge assessment that consists of many categories such as KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, ESOL and business English test.
