I have learnt about the different type of tests and their uses. The tests I learnt about were:
1. Placement tests - are conducted at the beginning to determine what groups they'd be put in
2. Diagnostic tests - also conducted in the beginning to determine what the student knows
3. Progress tests - used periodically to determine what student has acquired
4. Practice tests - used for external examinations
