Unit 19 focuses on teaching speacial groups. The groups are categorized into beginners, individuals, children,business english and monolingual/multilingual classes. It goes into details on teaching tips, posible problems, class management, lesson planning, and different approaches to the groups. It is important as a teacher to be able to adapt your approach to teaching a variety of levels, ages as well a specific needs of students. While teaching beginner students you will need to be sensitive and supportive while keeping activities short and engaging due to the lack of motivation. Where as teaching individual students who tend to be highly motivated and lessons will be directed at students interests. Teaching business english will cater to the needs and wants of the clients and company. This required the teacher to do some background Work on the company as well as need and needs negotiaion analysis to determin what materials to use, how to group the students to ensure the teacher understands áreas of english that the students require. Lastly is multilingual classes that usally take place in countries of the native english tongue. This can be benifical as the common language is english. Where as Monolingual is in the home country of the students and they generally have interets in similar topics and have the same diffuclties with the language learning. Overall this unit showed me the various groups and types of classes. Each with there owns specific needs, ways to teach, and activites to use to ensure effective learning.
