This lesson discuses common problem situations that a teacher may run into. I learned about some different activities that can be used as ice breakers on the first day of class. In a new group activities will need to be used to establish rapport between the students, and between the students and the teacher. In an existing group activities can be used to establish rapport between the students and the teacher, as the students are already acquainted with one another. This unit also highlighted some challenges of teaching very large classes and some techniques that can be used by the teacher to be more proficient in this setting. This lesson also reviewed the importance of reminding the students to avoid using their native language in the classroom since it will not help them in their endeavor to learn English.
