This unit has outlined some of the methodologies used in the teaching of language. There is often fierce debate over which method is the most effective; however, in the case of this course, the ESA method was chosen as the more effective methodology to follow.
The practical teaching methods of ESA have been described in this unit (straight arrow, patchwork and boomerang), along with the types of resources best suited to each stage.
The philosophy of student correction, both written and oral, have been introduced within the framework of each ESA stage.
