Teachers will need to adjust their teaching styles according to what group they are in charge of. It seems like the majority of this course is geared towards adult learners, so many of the tactics are suited for that group. However, things like putting people on the spot (random calling) can be detrimental to young learners who may be more anxious to perform in front of their peers. For beginning learners especially, it's important to be encouraging and clear to motivate them to do better and build a positive image of English. Business English teaching strategies are also introduced. In the world of business English, in-depth knowledge of the industry is often not required, since many of the clients will want a broad overview of the basics. Most of the time, clients will be in a mixed age and level group so tailoring lessons to meet the needs of all of the students can be challenging. Another group to consider is one-to-one lessons with individual students. These have a potential to be highly personable and engaging but certain activities that require a group may be limited, like group discussion, presentations, and surveying.
