I now understand and can identify the five different forms of conditionals, as well as direct to reported speech, which is surprisingly complex for such a (relatively!) simple topic! After studying the conversion chart and the arrow diagram, I have a much better understanding of it, as well as the need for students to have a firm grasp on the different tenses before attempting to convert between direct and reported speech!
