Evaluation is essential to understanding what the students know, have difficulties with, don't understand, or have forgotten. Evaluations can help the teacher design the lessons, pace, and activities necessary to assure the students are learning what's important for them to use and understand English. There's a variety of ways to evaluate, such as short tutorials to gauge what tasks the students have difficulty with, and various kinds of tests including controlled games, or at regular intervals. There are also achievement tests at the end of the course for students to measure what they've learned.
