I have learnt that the parts of speech are among the most fundamental concepts that are encountered throughout grammar and a good mastery and in-depth knowledge of it will help one to be a better writer and fluent communicator. Summarily, the parts of speech are;
Noun which are words that describe persons, places, things,animals,ideas and events.
Pronouns which function as replacements for nouns.
Adjectives which describe a noun.
Verbs which show actions and a sentence would be meaningless without verbs.
Adverbs which describe adjectives.
Prepositions which specifies locations.
Conjunctions which joins words, phrases or clauses together.
Interjections which are words that express emotions and are usually followed by an exclamation point.
