This unit covered the productive language skills, speaking and writing. There are two main focuses for lessons pertaining to speaking, these are activities which focus on accuracy or fluency. In activities focusing on accuracy is the teacher will control the output and when fluency is the focus the students will control the output. In speaking activities it is important to be clear with instructions and create structures which engage and encourage students to talk. With writing there are three major areas of importance, handwriting, spelling, and punctuation. English can be a very challenging language to learn when it comes to writing because it can differ greatly from the students original language. There are also numerous words which sounds the same but are spelled differently, or are spelled the same but have different meaning.
