In this unit I discovered what qualities make a teacher and student "good" in their respective roles. A good teacher is someone proficient in their discipline and prioritizes student learning while creating a safe learning environment through the virtues of patience and understanding. A good teacher also knows when to embody different roles in the classroom. A good student is motivated, keen to ask questions and correct mistakes. I also learned the varying levels of language mastery ranging from Beginner to Advanced as well as the various motivations to study language.
