Unit 7 talks about Teaching vocabulary, introducing grammatical structures, teaching language functions. Vocabulary is important to students especially at an early stage. How easy or difficult a vocabulary item is will depend on how similar the new language is to the students own language. When selecting vocabulary for students teachers need to have in mind the appropiacy to the students, appropiacy to the task, frequency and coverage and teachability. Students need to know the meaning, the use, word grammar, interaction, spelling, a nd pronunciation of the new vocabulary items. When teachers introduce grammatical structure students will need to know what lenguage means, how it is used, what grammatical form is and how it is used and written.
