Problems,troubles,bad moods or difficulties are always arisen and we should be ready to deal with them.
In the first lesson,which is the most important because we meet our new students or we have the pleasure to meet our old ones,there is no need to use books.We have to establish rapport,find out about our students needs or aspirations and the English level of each class member.A questionnaire,an activity or a game and needs analysis would be great ideas to make them feel cozy and know each other.
Moreover,warmers and communicative activities like pair work,role play and controlled practice can make reluctant students to gain the mood and the confidence to participate.
One of the biggest problems that teachers also face is a group where the students are at varying levels.There we split the students into two groups and use different kind of materials and as time passes we can use the same material but ask for different tasks according to the level.
Last but not the least,difficulties with listening tests are very common.Pre-teaching the unknown vocabulary or having a discussion on what students are going to hear are really helpful techniques.
