Unit 7 gives us an overview of the vocabulary, grammar, and functions of the language. I wholeheartedly agree on this chapter’s idea of balancing grammar and function. In order to create an effective mix of language comprehension, a combination of grammar and vocabulary knowledge is needed. A lot of information in this chapter are extremely important, in my opinion, for any new teachers. Before teaching grammar and vocabulary, teachers should understand the factors this chapter wrote out. I found myself charting down a few key important information as well. For example, before selecting vocabulary, teachers should see whether the vocabulary is appropriate, if its teachable, and how often likely it will be used.
