This Unit introduced the importance of teaching receptive skills that include reading and listening. They are both equally important and need attention. We read and listen to texts, etc. for various reasons and the Unit introduced them, their general overview and in detail. I also found out different ways to teach receptive skills that include pre-teaching the vocabulary necessary for understanding, choosing the topics wisely to make sure students are interested, choosing challenging tasks, engaging and motivating students. These points are important to pay attention to because the result of the lesson depends on them.
