In this unit the conditional sentence structure was introduced. There are two parts to the conditional sentence are the if clause and the main clause. There are five main conditions. They are zero, first, second, third and mixed. The zero condition refers to an action that is irrefutable. The first condition is a real situation in the future that is possible. The second condition communicates a present or future unreal hypothetical situation that is presently not true and is unlikely ever to be true. The third condition refers to a hypothetical past action(non action) and hypothetical past consequence/results. The mixed condition is a hypothetical past action or state and the hypothetical present consequence.
