During this Unit we concentrated on Lesson Planning. We covered the three main reasons to create a lesson plan. 1) An aid to planning ,2) A working document,and 3) a record of what the class has done.We reviewed the importance of keeping the plan simple and flexible. Additionally , we learned that being organized pays off for both the students benefit and the teachers. Something as simple as making sure the equipment you plan on using works properly can mean the difference between a great lesson or a frustrating lesson for both teachers and students.Both in the video for Unit 9 and in the text book we were given the opportunity to complete an actual lesson plan.I enjoyed the way it was broken down for us in the example especially the interaction highlights T-S or S-S. Additionally we learned about the importance of goals and variety and how they apply (like if you have to adhere to a specific syllabus).Finally we also learned about monitoring the class and how they are progressing(being mindful not to stop or hinder the students ) and to save all corrections for the end during the correction phase,consisting of : Self-correction ,Peer-correction and finally Teacher correction.
