In Unit 17 I learned about using equipment and various teaching aids
*The board - Most commonly used aid - Should be clean, write legibly, use correct writing tool, only put essential information, involve students in the writing process.
*Interactive White Boards - Referred to as smart boards - When using make sure test before class, Make sure it is located where all students can easily see it, Train on system before use.
*Overhead projectors - Advantages - Focuses students attention, lessons can be prepared in advance, can use to reveal info gradually, can model grammar an present vocabulary, OHT's can be kept in a file for later use, which reduces teacher prep time for next lessons. Can be difficult and complicated so necessary prep time should be taken to familiarize one with the equipment.
*Visual aids - Brings the outside world into the classroom and add variety, can stimulate an elicit language, can set the context
