Unit Four introduces the four present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. For each tense there is a section describing form, for example, the section present simple states the form is subject + base form (s/es). The section then covers the different formulas with examples for that tense. There are three forms of each tense type: affirmative, negative, and question. Certain forms, like the past simple negative requires that elements be added in that are not in the original formula, such as, not, or auxiliary verbs like do. The section then continues on to usages, which range from facts (present simple) to an action that a has recent result (present perfect continuous). The last part of each section covers different activities that can be done in the activate stage of the lesson with students. A few of these are, 20 Questions, miming, and discovering facts about class members.
