This unit explained methods to use in order to manage a classroom. Eye contact, physical gestures, ones voice and remembering all of the students names is a great way to establish rapport and to feel confident within the classroom. The course discussed effective and ineffectual ways to use grouping for students. For example whole classroom participation allows students to interact with one another however, it can reduce which students choose to speak especially those that aren’t as confident or just shy. Classroom arrangements are a significant factor when it comes to class size, age, nationalities, student personalities etc. these are things I must keep in mind when I begin teaching. From this unit I have learned ways to dominate the classroom while still establishing rapport with the students also how to deal with unwanted behaviors. For example it’s best to address the behavior once it happens and to follow through with the schools guidelines.
