This unit on teaching special groups essentially detailed the types of students that you might expect to have in an English language learning classroom - children, adult and business students among them. It listed things to consider as an approach for different ages and for those learning for different purposes, such as being required in school versus being a requirement for employment. It outlined methodologies, techniques and potential issues and provided a needs assessment to target both learning and teaching content. A needs analysis was detailed, and the usefulness of the information in tailoring lessons and content was given. It reiterated being an authentic, warm human and building relationships with students for the best outcomes.
