This unit content discussed appropriate teacher and learner characteristics. As well as teacher requirements and types of student leaners. The unit described what makes a good teacher. A good teacher should not only be kind and understanding but also should be able to involve each student equally throughout a lesson. I learned not only how to be a good teacher but also my role as a teacher. As a teacher, one must be a manager, organizer, assessor, promoter, motivator, and model, among others. I have learned that in order to fulfill my role as a teacher I must create a balanced environment for my students, in regards to leading and having the students lead. Besides becoming knowledgeable as my role as a teacher the course also discussed the different levels of learners one may experience. For example the difference between a beginner and a advanced learner. Also how age and culture will contribute to how a student may learn and their motivation to learn. This unit has shown me a variety of examples I may face while teaching as well as some advice on how to become a good teacher.
