Lesson 11 teaches the four basic skills in any language. Receptive skills include reading and litening. Productive skills are speaking and writing. They are different specialist skills for reading an litening which are:
Predictive skills, Specific information- scanning, General idea- skimming, Detailed information, Deduction from context.
Predictive skills- predict the context of an article or dialogue from a headline or introduction.
Specific information-scanning is when we listen,or read for specific information.
General idea-skimming is where we read or listen for the gist of a text since we don't concentrate in every word.
Detailed information is when we read in order to understand everything in detailed.
Deduction from context is when we need to be able to understand the meaning of individual words or phrases from the context in which we hear and read them.
I learned that as teacher I need to create interesting topics, create interest and task for students. Interesting topics helps students get motivated, and engage. In creating tasks for students is important to promote understanding.
