In this unit I've learnt that student language books can be very helpful in many ways but also have their drawbacks. Teachers should try to achieve a balance between using authentic material, created material and school books because all three learning materials are beneficial to students learning. Books give structure and progression and have been previously tested for students. Authentic materials are very relevant to students, where they are living and day to day events and created materials can be designed for student's particular levels/backgrounds and help to keep students interested and motivated.
