Unit 13 covers teaching pronunciation and phonology. Areas of stress, rhythm and intonation in speaking are dealt with as well as concentrating on the International Phonetic Alphabet. As a native English speaker, fall and rise of speech is difficult to hear but after learning the phonemic symbols, rise and fall of sentences, stress of words and articulation, I realized how important this aspect is in teaching English especially to beginners to speak the language properly. The unit was very thorough in covering topics and provided teaching techniques for accuracy and clarity of communication.
