Students who are assessed on a regular basis in language schools are reassured of their progress. Monitoring progress keeps teachers abreast of any difficulties and lets us see if we can continue on to the next level within the lesson plan . It is thus a good idea to have regular assessments. It takes time and has to be well-thought up . The content in progress tests should be familiar. On the one hand , we should make up a fair test that is not too difficult but on the other hand it has to have a level of difficulty , to be a challenge ,of sorts . We can test the students' aptitudes and comprehension and also see where they didn't understand or fail at .
