This chapter focuses on dealing with potential problems that may occur in a new teaching environment. For example, they type of group of students a teacher has in the classroom can affect the type of lesson plans. A teacher may have a new group of students who do not know each other or the teacher may have a a group of students who have been together previously and will be very comfortable with each other. The next topic in the unit deals with having activities such as warmers to get the students comfortable with each other and the teacher. One of the troubleshooting items listed is what to do with a class that has students who have studied English prior and are situated on multiple levels. Other topics include how to deal with the use of the native language in the classroom, having reluctant students, and difficulties that may arise from listening examples. The most important items I learned from the unit is the ideas for warmers and other lesson ideas. I feel these are the most important aspects for me and will help me in my future in teaching English.
