This first unit was a solid introduction to the relationships formed between students and teachers. It helped to show the many different perspectives that exist within the classroom and how these perspectives relate to and effect one another. The unit touched base on the importance of being aware of your individual role in the classroom. Teachers must want the best for their students. They must be respectful, motivating, and supportive of their students no matter their skills, habits, culture, or gender. Students must also have a mutual respect for their teachers by putting in effort and keeping and open mind. Students must possess some kind of desire to learn and move forward with their studies or it will be hard for themselves to find any success. There is a big differences between young learners and adult learners but they are both capable of success on their own terms. Teachers must take on many different roles in order to provide the most beneficial teaching experience for their students. Most importantly, both students and teachers alike must find a source of motivation that keeps them wanting to teach, grow, and learn from one another.
