This unit gave details about teaching listening and reading. In this unit, I learned about the importance of listening and reading and the various methods of teaching the skills. I also learned about the different receptive skills: Predictive skills, scanning, skimming, reading/listening for detailed information, and deducing from context. I also learned that it is important to select material that builds confidence for students. The material should also have various topics to interest a variety of students. I like that this unit gave an example of how to use listening and reading in a lesson.
