Unit 15 is about the different methods of evaluating student’s levels and progress. There are three ways to assess a student’s language level: tutorials, evaluation by the students, and tests. Tutorials and evaluations were briefly discussed while testing was the main focus. I believe testing can be an effective way of placing, assessing, and reporting a student’s learning level when it is done properly. However, often time, we tend to over-test students. They become fatigued, less confidence, and bored. It’s up to us teacher to create a balance level of testing.
