Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

The unit first covered the different types of beginner students (absolute, false, adult, young, etc) as well as a list of different methodologies a teacher should consider employing when teaching beginners, possible problems that beginner students may encounter and possible motivation beginner students may or may not have. The unit continued by going over the concept of teaching individual students as well as proper methods that should be used to maximize the effectiveness of the one-on-one teaching process including example activities, homework type, etc. Next the unit covered the idea of teaching children discussing tips a teacher should keep in mind while teaching (lots of repetition, slower and clearly pronounced delivery, etc) do's and don'ts for teaching children (do not raise voice, select favorites, do always use English during instruction, etc), how to make the classroom appeal more to children, as well as tips for classroom management and discipline. Then the unit moved onto discussing the process of teaching English for specific purposes (ESP - Business English), going over difficulties that students (clients) may deal with such as time of class being right after work, family life. The ESP section also covered things to take into consideration such as the age variation, finding out students wants and needs from the course via a needs analysis/negotiation. Planning of the program to help increase course relevance to the job of the students (lesson about socializing with customers, etc), taking time to learn things about the company (location, materials available for the teacher, contact numbers), rules of thumb for the duration of the course (dressing professionally, avoiding gossip with other students, writing a post-course report, etc). Finally the unit concluded by going over the experience of teaching multilingual and monolingual classes including the advantages and disadvantages of both types of class structures (multilingual means the common language between students is English vs monolingual students will be share similar language problems due to a shared mother tongue making it easier to more quickly resolve mutual language problems they are experiencing). Overall I feel I have learned appropriate tips and methodologies for teaching a variation of different types of class structures from business professionals to children.
