In Unit 7, I learned about how students have to be introduced to new language in a balanced and manageable way. With vocabulary, selecting vocabulary depending on level is important as well as appropriacy to students and tasks, frequency and coverage. With grammar structures, the students need to know the meaning, its usage, what the grammatical form is and how it is said/written. Teaching language function stresses activation of the language in areas such as refusing, agreeing and disagreeing, suggesting. I found the EFA lesson examples for vocabulary, grammar and function all helpful and clearer in terms of creating a lesson plan for students.
