When teaching a language one of the key components is pronunciation and phonology. I found this unit extremely helpful as I have never really experienced teaching with phonetics, I have taught basic pronunciation but not to the same level that would be needed in teaching English. I found this unit a little bit more difficult as I did not have as much of a background in the topic, or the methods. However, the explanation within the unit helped improve my foundation on pronunciation and especially phonetics. I feel that more emphasis on the phonetic script would be useful in this unit, as to me it was skimmed through quickly. I feel this is one of the most important units I have had so far because it is such a new area in regards to my teaching knowledge.
