This unit, I learned about some common problems in the classroom. I learned that the first lesson is very important for setting the tone and building rapport with your students, especially if they are an existing group. I also learned some warmers I could use- such as hangman or Pictionary to get the class excited and interested in the discussion and classroom material. Some ways I can troubleshoot in a class, or solve potential issues like handling varying levels of English, could be to pair stronger and weaker students so that the students can assist each other and help each other solve issues or the task. I also learned about how to handle large classes, through managing class dynamics, using lots of pair and group work and being very clear with instruction. Lastly I learned about how to manage use native tongue in class, reluctant students and difficulties with listening texts, all in which this unit provided me clear examples and solutions for these issues.
