In this unit, I learned about characteristics of good teachers and learners. There are many different ways of being a good teacher, and these should be employed according to the situation. This will change according to the nature of the learnings (i.e. their age, background, and the class dynamic) but will also change during the course of a lesson according to the current activity. For example, when a teacher is explaining an activity to the class, they will be playing the role of a manager. However, when the activity is underway they may be more effectively in the role of a participant of the activity (and therefore on an equal level as the students) or as an observer to the activity, which would allow them to monitor the progress of the class more closely.
